Something strange is going on, I am running windows 11 with both versions 1.35 and 1.4 and I can’t import most stp files but some come in just fine. I am working with surfaces. It is really confusing. Any ideas? It tries to import them but there is nothing there when it is done.

It seems like it might be the flavor of Stp file. I picked AP242 and it appears to work but maybe I just got lucky this time.
There was a reported bug for v1.4.0 that should be fixed (Cannot import STEP geometry in the latest 1.4.0 dev version - #3 by Matej). Did you try the latest version?

yes, I used the latest version of 1.4 and 1.35 as well which both worked just fine before. It seems like I just had the wrong stp version/generation. I can try to test it more a bit later as it doesn’t really make sense. (should the import be sensitive to the stp version?

It imports properly in v1.3.5.1 and v1.4.0.
