Blurry fonts. Forcing font corrections does not help, it causes some buttons to not display correctly. Can anything be done about it? Perhaps rebuilding the interface to a new framework?
Can you share a screenshot showing this ? What is your Windows version ? Are you working on a laptop ?
I have the latest version of Windows 10 x64. I have a laptop and a PC with an nvida graphics card. One of them is lenovo y700. I know that sometimes old versions of applications have problems with interface scaling (DPI). In my opinion, prepomax should use the newer library as an interface. When I get access to the computer, I will take a screenshot, but I think it is unnecessary here because the application uses old libraries. I think so.
Does it look like this:
instead of this:
?
If yes then it’s not a fault of PrePoMax because I have this issue with many other apps too (even Abaqus) on newer laptops.
Try setting Compatibility → Change high DPI settings → Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application. It usually helps.
PrePoMax uses Net Framework 4.8. The newest version is 4.8.1, but upgrading to this version will not fix the issue (should not be confused with .NET which is at the version 8).
I’ve used PrePoMax on many computers and I’ve never had an issue with blurry icons that couldn’t be resolved using the aforementioned setting. It has never been reported so far either. So I guess there’s nothing to worry about and it’s just Windows 10/11 messing up with display with the default settings.
As I’ve already written, the scaling settings don’t really help. The welcome image is falling apart, but the buttons look like in the picture.
I can also confirm that we use PrePoMax on many different PCs and do not have problems with the graphic scaling.
Since I cant change this behavior, I am closing the topic.
