A new developer/preview PrePoMax version v2.2.1 has been released

A new release version of the PrePoMax contains the following FEM features:

  • added support for defeaturing CAD parts: Geometry → CAD Part → Defeature
  • a much faster exporter for hydrostatic pressure loads into .inp file
  • bug fixes

And the following user features:

  • bug fixes

The defeaturing capability uses the OpenCascade function exposed through the Gmsh API. The feature is described in 3D Model Defeaturing - Forum Open Cascade Technology

Its integration is very basic, and after every defeature command, the old geometry is replaced by the new one without the option to go back a step.

it’s a great and amazing when seeing basic CAD operation inside PrePoMax, maybe boolean operation and solid partition is possible in the future.

Thanks a lot. It would be really helpful to have this tool.
As @synt already mentioned, it would be great to have a splitting tool and may be a bit easy approach than transfinite or extrude/revolve operation to create structured hex mesh
