When trying to use the Pardiso or Spooles solvers, PrePoMax reports that the library is not found.
Can you provide steps to add the capabilities to PrePoMax?
Thanks!
I moved this to General Questions subforum.
You can download the necessary solver files from here: PrePoMax
Copy them to Solver folder in PrePoMax directory. Then open PrePoMax, go to Tools → Settings → CalculiX and select proper solver’s .exe file in Executable field. You can also set the default solver there. Solver can also be selected when creating a new analysis step.
Thanks! Worked Perfectly. However, to use either Pardiso or Spooles which is in a different file, you have to copy the solver s and the libraires (*.dll) into the solver folder and then change the name of the cxx_static.exe to a different name and then rename the downloaded files cxx_dynamic.exe to to cxx_static.exe so that Prepomax can find and use the new solver.
I tested it and works well!
There is a setting inside PrePoMax where you can select the file you want to use as a solver. Settings->CalculiX->Executable
So there is no need to rename the solver files.
The first package contains Pardiso with necessary libraries while the third one contains all solvers with libraries for Pardiso.
@FEAnalyst Thank you.
The first one is unfortunately not working.
Try the third one, it should contain all the needed files.
Thanks @Matej
Is it advisable to copy all the files found there to the solver folder ?
Yes, you should place them there.
Hmmm…still getting a MKL missing file error.
Is this perhaps because I have an AMD cpu and this is an Intel Math Kernal Library (MKL) ?
You must copy the solver libraries (.dll) into the solver folder.
What I did was I renamed the default cxx_static.exe to cxx_static_old.exe, and renamed the cxx_dynamic.exe to cxx_static.exe.
Alternatively, you can change the name or location of the Pardiso solver in the settings menu:
I had used the Pardiso solver with Tochnog and it is very fast and never had issues with number of nodes.
Thanks @FdoLorenzo
The settings are not the problem. That is clear and I did that.
The issue is that the mkl_def.1.dll file was not included in the hyperlink provided above. Can you upload it somewhere I can grab it from ?
Manage to get the file from another fea installation (folder) on my pc.
Hello,
I tried to get the files from the link, unfortunately I get a 404 error (page not found).
Do you know an alternate download location?
Many thanks,
Mike
