What the ERROR_STR(%) on solution output(result tab)?

Hi all,

I don’t understand what the ERROR_STR(%) on solution output(result tab) means.

I’m not sure why it’s appearing without having to specify ERR or ZZS in the *EL FILE card.
(EER and ZZS mutually exclusive.)
According to the manual, there are only EER and ZZS error estimators options.

Best regards,

Check the 6.12 Error estimators chapter of the CalculiX User’s Manual. STR stands for error in principal stress in a node.

Thanks for your response.

STR is different from ERR and ZZS, isn’t it?
ERR is a gradient error estimator, isn’t it?

STR stands for error in principal stress of the integration points belong to a certain node, isn’t it?

Best regards,

ERR is requested as element output to obtain STR. ZZS is another error measure - Zienkiewicz-Zhu stress. Its description can be found in the documentation chapter 6.12.1 Zienkiewicz-Zhu error estimator.

STR uses principal stresses from integration points of elements sharing the same node.
