Using tutorials for learning

Hello all,

Greetings from Toronto, Canada.

First of all, I would like to thank Matej and the team who developed such a complex software and made it available to everyone. Thank you for your generosity.

I have found PrePoMax about a week ago and started to learn how to use it.

I watched Matej’s and Jakub’s tutorials. Thank you for the efforts in explaining how to use it.

One of the tutorials I have used is Matej’s Basic Tutorial, Bracket.unv

I have two questions:

  1. In Set selection, the option: Surface angle has a field for angle (default is 30 deg) see image below. When should I change this angle. Matej left it as is.

  1. When trying to run the analysis I get the following message:

I have created an Element as Part and selected the bracket, but, it didn’t work.

Would appreciate some advice if anyone has the time to explain.

Thank you,

Paul

I fixed the images in your post.

  1. This setting can be used to control the propagation of selections. The angle is a criterion - the higher it is, the larger region is selected. Give it a try.

  2. There’s an unnecessary shell part in the tree. Delete it and assign the solid section to Bracket and it should work.

Hello FEAnalyst, thank you for fixing the message and for the prompt help. Will give it a go now.
