I’m a student who just started learning about prepomax
for my thesis i need to study the von misses stress and contact wear of a TAR ( Total ankle replacement )
i couldn’t figure out how to simulate the movement of the bearing ( the top green part ) back and forth along the top surface of the talar ( the bottom white part )
any help would be much appreciated . Thank you
PrePoMax has built-in contact wear calculation and it can automatically repeat movement back and forth. Check those tutorials:
the movement in here is linear , any ideas on how to move in circular motion ( back and forth)
You can also check the 3 tooth wear model: Matej Borovinšek / PrePoMax Models · GitLab
You could add a rigid body constraint connected to the top surface of the rotating part and apply a rotational displacement BC to the reference point of that rigid body constraint. It may use an amplitude reference for time variation.
i will , thank you so much
can we do an online meeting soon i couldn’ manage to do it
I’ll ping you in a private chat and we’ll see what we can do.
do you need my mail or anything to contact you ?
No, it’s not necessary. I sent you a message, you should have a notification now.
