I am trying to analyse the stresses of a vessel I created in FreeCAD. I defined a static step and set the internal and external surfaces pressures as ‘‘uniform pressure’’, and a fixed BC on two nodes.
But when I run the analysis, it says ‘‘Failed with results’’ and ‘‘Too many cutbacks’’.
Run a frequency analysis to visualize rigid body modes. It’s not sufficient to fix 2 nodes in line. You should use the 3-2-1 method or, even better, utilize symmetry and analyze only 1/8th of the vessel with symmetry BCs fully stabilizing the model.
Can I make the section of the vessel to analyze directly on PrePoMax?
No, you would have to prepare the geometry in FreeCAD and import again to PrePoMax.
