Hello,there!
I am seeking some advice on a simulation I conducted involving the contact deformation of two plastic rings. As demonstrated in the attached image, my concern is that only the outer plastic ring appears to be deforming, while the protruding part of the inner ring and the entire inner ring itself show no signs of deformation. This result seems counterintuitive to me. Could anyone kindly provide insights on why this might be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You applied the prescribed displacement BC to the whole inner ring. Apply it to just part of it, omitting regions that are supposed to come in contact with the other ring (so that protrusion) and it should deform as expected.
