Problem with tie constraint

Hi

I think i have a problem with tie constraint in my frame case. First two constraint works well, I have only problem with gusset. Tried merging parts, tried compound part → then I can’t mesh part, tried swapping master/slave, tried constraint only surface, whole part etc. Tried also set adjust to no in tie constraint data. Always gusset goes on own way away from frame.

Interesting is fact that with previous model (thinner pipe wall) it seems to work properly with same constraints. I have trial FEA license in IronCAD to compare results and with thinner wall it was okay, even results were similar. Then i made new stronger frame and can’t compare results due to gusset moving

Did you try significantly increasing position tolerance ? This is the key setting in such cases.

You could also try tied contact, sometimes it works better than tie constraints despite being nonlinear.

Noo way that’s it, increased position tolerance to 0.5mm and it’s working, also very similar results to FEA module in IronCAD.
