I was planning to visualize the result of some imperfections I have introduced on my geometry . I have request Check Model . My file has no Steps. My idea was to just generate and load the geometry to magnify the deformed view.
Is Check Model in Prepomax the same as *NO ANALYSIS ?
Although there are no steps in the tree, the results windows in Prepomax is loading some previous results from the temp folder as I can see a set of Mode shapes as if there has been a Frequency analysis. (There was before erasing the steps).
Regards.

Yes, Check Model uses *NO ANALYSIS. But since PrePoMax adds this keyword after the actual analysis step, it won’t work when there are no steps or the steps are deactivated.
And when the analysis fails with no results, you may still see the previous results (that were not replaced because new resukts were not generated) in the Results tab. You can use File —> Close All Results to get rid of them. Clicking Results in the job monitor or job context menu should (correctly) show an error message about non-existent or empty results file.
Yes, it is the same. The *No analysis keyword is step based according to Calculix documentation so it must appear within a step. I could add a dummy step if no other steps are created in the model?
I have done some other tests but unfortunately *NO ANALISYS by itself doesn’t generate the expanded geometry in the results window unless there is a dummy BC in the dummy step.
