How to increase the number of data(s) plot in history output for modal analysis

Hi everyone,

I have a question about increasing the number of data points in a history output. I’m currently practicing modal analysis on a simple beam and want to observe the displacement-time response. To do that, I selected nodes from one interface and created a history output for the y-axis displacement.

However, I noticed that the number of data points seems too low for my needs. Is there a way to increase the number of output points? Could this be related to the meshing parameters, or is there something else I should adjust?

For context, I’m a high school graduate preparing for an undergraduate engineering program, and I’m currently working on a small FEM project out of interest. I’d really appreciate any guidance!

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean modal dynamics step ?

Do you want data from more time frames or from more nodes ?

Yes, sorry about the missing information, I’m using the modal dynamics step and wanted to increase more time frames

Then you can change the incrementation settings for that step. For example, set the maximum increment size to 0.01 s. Or even use direct incrementation. By deafult, output is written every increment.
