If it’s allowed here, I’d like to propose a one-time job for setting up a simulation. I’ll need to run the simulation several times, tweaking the geometry and force direction. I’m not looking for results so much as a solid setup in Prepomax that I can work with.
I would supply:
- one step file for analysis
- an explanation and drawing of real-world loading conditions
- true stress-strain data (quick review to make sure my values make sense
- money - we’d agree on a price, and I’d pay through a normal channel (Venmo, Zelle, ACH, Wire, etc).
I would like in return:
- A PrePoMax file that completes analysis
- A brief explanation of the choices made and a justification of them. Things meshing parameters, simulation step size, loading setups, etc.
The simulation is approximating a real-world test where a small plastic part is held fixed on one end and a string tied to the other. A known-mass with a string over a pulley is dropped and pulls tight, yanking on the plastic part. The string-connection and the fixturing are not in line with each other causing both tension and bending. The test happens at room temperature. I can clarify more if you’re doing the project
When I run all the tests (varying the angle of the loading conditions and substituting 3-4 geometries) the final results will be comparative. “Under these conditions geometry-A is ~50% better than geometry-B".”
I don’t have any data for the string, and I’d prefer to simplify the simulation by adding an impulse to a reference point or something similar.
I’ve made attempts, but I don’t have he education or experience to do a good job of this.
Reply here if you’re interested and I’ll reach out.
