Custom colour Spectrum
There is an Inferno color map in PrePoMax:
and Viridis:
Custom color maps are not yet supported.
indeeed, thanks for adding more color spectrum type in later versions. I’m only miss one in classic type, bottom left in my example. It’s widely used and popular since early era of FEA e.g Nastran/Patran, FEMAP, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, Strand7
hopefully a classic type will be available for similarity with another and completeness.
Do you know how this colour map is called?
It’s called Rainbow Desaturated. But in the screenshot it uses non-default number of discrete colors (16).
the color map classic type preset available in ParaView named “Rainbow Desaturated”
only need to notify a Rainbow Desaturated color maps has been added in latest developmet version (v2.0.2). In my personal views, more readable than common default Rainbow due to its contrast. Thank you
At first, I was a little skeptical about this. But just used it in my last analysis and it’s way easier to spot the areas of interest than the normal Rainbow spectrum.
I think the problem is that the blue and green of the latter are so intense they fight with the red color for attention .
is an old classic color maps and categories as qualitative (green color at medians), used by many early FE software generation. Another recommendation is diverging type e.g Cool-Warm. It can be easily investigating of tension (reinforcement) or compression (buckling) zone. There’s sequential type e.g Viridis for thermal analysis result. PrePoMax provide all these colormaps type, given flexibility to the user to chose based on their specific needs.
