Since PPM is predominantly a pre-post processor, I am going to be selfish and beg to prioritize some ‘view manipulation’ features, which will come in handy when compiling reports.
To be more specific; often we need to compare results from different analyses with the exact same view angle and sometimes even zoom distance. Currently the only way to achieve this (other than the preset front, back, top, bottom, left etc.- which are aligned to the global coordinate system) is by manually manipulating your view angle. However, this is not ideal and there are always slight view angle/zoom differences in the plots - as shown below.
I have noticed that in some other software one can pick a surface and click a ‘normal to’ feature. I realise that PPM does have a ‘normal view’ icon in the task bar but it only rotates the image to the nearest principal axis on the global coordinate system.
It would be useful if there were more options. Perhaps just aligning views such as front, back, left, right, top, bottom to a ‘user defined’ coordinate system would be relatively simple to implement ?
