hi, i have applied tie constraint between plate hole as master and bolt as slave and between plates i have make surface interaction with friction but the file results in non jacobian error. what is the mistake i am doing kindly explain.

When you encounter this error and you have tie constraints in your model, just disable adjustment:
hi, i changed the tie adjustment to “No” but the program is running for the last half an hour.
That’s another issue - with convergence. The main issue is that you fixed a reference point but it’s not connected to the face via rigid body constraint so the model is underconstrained. Of course, you could also fix the face directly. I would block the other DOFs for the second plate (the one you pull) too.
Then disable Nlgeom, replace surface traction load with prescribed displacement (at least for now) and adjust the contact type if it still doesn’t work.
Don’t you need some nut for the bolt to hold it from the bottom ? You could simplify the bolt head (model it as a cylinder). Then if you have just the plates and cylinders for bolts parts, you can try meshing with hexahedral elements.
got it, thank you, the file run successfully.
