a pipe as an elastic substrate

Hi
How to make the boundary conditions for a pipe as an elastic substrate? Around the perimeter of the pipe. Pipe in the ground.

PrePoMax supports surface spring constraint which can be used to model elastic foundation: PrePoMax (CalculiX FEA) - Tutorial 19 - Beam on elastic foundation - YouTube

However, you have to define the spring stiffnesses in the 3 axes of the global cartesian coordinates system.

thank you
Will it be possible to make the ground as Hardening Soil material
Small? I do not know what soil parameters to enter when creating the material.

Unfortunately, CalculiX doesn’t have built-in material models for geotechnical applications but they can be added using UMAT subroutine. You can find some useful information in this recent thread on the CalculiX forum: Calculix has *soil? - CalculiX

If the ground can be modelled as a linear material you can use the spring constraint. The new PrePoMax version 1.3.5 enables you to assign a specific spring stiffness (stiffness per area) which can be found online for different soils.

Hardening Soil material is nonlinear type. spring curve generates by PrePoMax are single values spring constant (elastic type)

CalculiX has capable with nonlinear spring defined by user force-displacement curves. so the parameter NONLINEAR need to activated, recalculates and redefined.

it will be cumbersome to do not automatically, hope this features are interested and available in the future release.
