Sometimes it is useful to show numerical values of the result in a large number of nodes. In such a case only a value with corresponding unit should be shown in corresponding annotation. At present, manual editing of each annotation should be used to obtain such a result. It would be nice to have “Values only” option in the “Annotation” section of settings.
When multiple results are shown in the annotation, such as Node id and Coordinates, additional descriptions of values are needed. But if all other annotation results are hidden, and the Value is the only result shown, I can remove the description “Value:”. In such a case, it is obvious what the number represents. So no additional settings are necessary?
I think your proposal is the best. When only a result value is shown in an annotation there is no need to add description “Value:” to it. Additionally, such a small change can be easily implemented.
BTW just now we have two types of annotations in the PPM. The ‘old’ annotations are used for min and max value of the result, the ‘new’ annotations - in all other cases. "Old’ annotations are non-editable and it is impossible to remove Node ID from them. In fact, min and max annotations are the ordinary node annotations for selected nodes with extreme values of the result. Please, consider substitution of the ‘old’ style annotations with the ‘new’ ones.
Ok, I will do it in that way.
I am also bothered by the Old and New annotations and would like to solve this issue. But the old min and max annotations only look like the new node annotations. In the background they are different. The old annotations can be animated while the new annotations cannot be animated. Min and max annotations also change node id when the min or max value changes location (nonlinear analysis). These capabilities are not possible for the new annotations (yet).
