Pretension and its cuting plane

Hello,

Regarding pretension and its cuting plane, Ansys manual says:

“The bolt need not be cut exactly at the center, but it must be cut within the grip length of the
bolt.”

¿Does this requirement also apply in ccx?

I don’t think it matters in ccx. It really depends on your need. You can cut it anywhere you don’t expect other boundary conditions to be applied. You may want to be away enough from other BCs to get proper stress values.
