I have been following a tutorial by an active member on these forums, HOWEVER, the ONLY difference i made was i exported the supplied step file to a stl file. I did that for a good reason.
Everything went smoothly except the contact pairs situation in prepomax. I had to manually select master/slave faces that contacted each other because the search function was not working, probably due to the idea that it was ONE single part rather than 2.
Anyway, after running the analysis, the links are now overlapping for some odd reason.
Any help would be excellent. I can not upload the file. but maybe a google drive link
hey, how goes it. I just got home from a VERY busy day at work. Had 15 medical setups to do for hospitals, outpatient etc and im beat. Please forgive, but my brain is having a hard time finding the deformation type? is this post or pre and where is this option located.
EDIT:
Found it. Its a post processing option after results.
However, my values seem to be twice the amount as the tutorial.
It’s a single part in your model and it results in continuous mesh - both segments are connected at one node. So you should add a small gap between them or just use separate parts like I did to avoid this.
how would i add a small gap between them as a single solid? this seems like a good thing to learn
I have been able to export the objects as STL files and have prepomax import them separately. The values are getting closer and the search for contact pairs works now
