meshing of quadratic plane/shell element from STL files seems not working properly in versions 1.2.0, change options at Meshing Parameter & Mesh type did not effect the results. however, this problems does not happen in versions 1.0.0
I downloaded a fresh version v1.2.0 and tried meshing a stl surface in 3D and in 2D and in both cases I got a second order mesh. This was also written in the output window. In your case it seems a linear mesh was selected. Can you share the failed mesh attemdt in a pmx file?
i did several times on Meshing Parameters menus, also for simple rectangle shapes. still did not succeed to generate quadratic mesh of shell element.

You are right. It is not working for the model you sent. I will check what is wrong.
I have fixed the linear only .stl mesh. Thank you for the .pmx file otherwise, I would have not found it so easily.
