Micrometric structures

Hello everyone, does anyone know if the software supports micrometric structures?

I am importing a STEP file (solid) from FreeCAD, and it comes in meters instead of micrometers. I’m using the scale function to resize the solid and match the dimensions I want to simulate. However, when the software doesn’t automatically close, it ends up getting distorted.

Does anyone know what to do?

Change the unit prefix .MILLI. in the STEP file - SI_UNIT(.MILLI.,.METRE.)
Use .MICRO. or another

  • .UNIT. 1000
  • .DECI. 100
  • .CENTI. 10
  • .MILLI. 1 - FreeCAD
  • .MICRO. 1e-3
  • .NANO. 1e-6

When preparing geometries for PrePoMax simulations with meters in FreeCAD, I use the Part Scale tool but there are a few other tools for that as well. Just select Unitless system in PrePoMax and ensure consistent units for analysis definition or use the SI(mm) system. With Query —> Distance or ruler at the bottom of the viewport, you can measure the model and check if its size is correct. This is very important to avoid mistakes.

Newly implemented Akismet anti-spam system on the FreeCAD wiki (due to frequent spam attacks). Apparently, it displays that as a preview for links to the wiki. I will try to replace it.

Thank you for your support, changing the text units did not worked for me.
I changed the text from E-02 to E-05 and created the project using mm units.
Your suggestion of opening the .step in a text editor helped a lot. Thank you very much.
