Leaf Springs and dampers

Hi All,

Has anyone worked on modeling

  1. Leaf Springs

  2. Only Dampers for automotives

Yes, you can find some PrePoMax tutorials for that on YouTube.

I have checked the video. We would like to understand how can we measure the damping and run vibration analysis please?.

The leaf spring video ? Damping and vibration analyses are discussed in other tutorials such as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8HQKI3PTrI

Yes we have checked the videos.

In multi layered leaf spring the damping effect if due to friction between spring leaves. Hence we want to undertand how we can capture damping and vibration analysis using a clear model.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

It also depends on what kind of dynamic analysis procedure you want to use - nonlinear dynamic or linear dynamics (time or frequency domain). There are different forms of damping available based on that.

We will first build the multi layer leaf spring please. After that you can suggest us the right approach ?.

Maybe contact me for that via private messages (I sent you one some time ago, I can send another to direct you there) because our discussions are turning into rapid conversations about basics of PrePoMax and CalculiX and your specific projects, not really beneficial for the forum. I can provide some limited further consultancy via pm if you are interested.

Thank you I have responded to you via private message.

Iam still learning your tool and Iam not familiar with CalculiX. Hence I get lot of questions in my mind when we start using your tool.
