I am programing a python code, that automaticly creates a calculix input file with thermal steps for a
welding simulation. Saddly, i can not import this input in Prepomax, because thermal steps are causing an
error and are not imported in Prepomax.
The input file importer still has some limitations - it’s way behind the exporter. It’s best to import just the meshes in input files. Or maybe you could complete the setup in the input file, submit it using standalone CalculiX and postprocess in PrePoMax.
Currently i am using standalone calculix. But it would be so cool if i could do this calculation in Prepomax. Maybe it is not much work to fix this issue?
Maybe you can use PrePoMax for post-processing, then. It can open the *.frd files without a problem.
That is what i am doing currently.
What kind of weld simulation are you simulating?
I am simulating a DED process. A laser is melting metal powder and printing a 3D part.
The .inp reader was updated in the 2.0.4 developer version. Can you try if it is working so that I can close this topic?
Hello Matej,
i tested and it works.
