Heat flux simmilar to surface traction for forces?

Hello,
and first - a great piece of software - many thanks.
While testing a heat simulation I saw that the heat flux is applied to every node in the node set - Calulix like.
For appling forces there is an item for distributing the force to all nodes in the nodes set (surface traction). Is it possible to get such a feature or is it already implemented?

Thanks in advance

Are you the guy from the FreeCAD forum where we discussed the issue with heat transfer analysis ?

I must admit that an option to specify heat flux in W for selected surfaces so that it’s distributed uniformly on them (instead of applying the provided value to each node) could be helpful. For now, you could use surface heat flux instead and specify it in W/mm^2 (assuming default units). Just measure the surface area first and calculate the proper value.

Hello,
I’m not the guy from the FreeCAD-Forum:-). I’m a NX (nonsense clickx) and Ansys user. It’s 8 years ago that I used Calculix (the hard way). So I was very impressed to see what is possible now for setting up an input dec.

Many thank’s for your reply.
Have a nice day

I think the surface flux could have an option to define the flux or flux/area and it could be incorporated in the “load” surface flux. The flux would internally be converted to flux/area but would be exact only for small deformations.

Right, if it’s added, it would be good to emphasize (in the load menu or at least in the documentation) that the area is calculated based on the undeformed geometry and not updated with the deformation.

Would be nice esspecially for new calculix and Prepomax users. I have already received more than I expected. Many thanks.
