Element selection is broken in PPM 2.3.6

Hi @Matej , I installed the recently available PPM version 2.3.6 and had some problems with element selection in History Output/EH_Output: it seems I cannot click on any element to choose for the history output. The problem is almost absent in the previous version 2.3.5 to which I had to revert back. Can you confirm ?
In passing, I also notice that

  1. when taking cross-sections, I am unable to select elements inside the part, perhaps because they are cut in half by cross-sectioning, which is required to access the elements though;
  2. I then reverted to take the ID of the surface element (with PPM 2.3.5) and then work the ID number of the element inside the part, which is a drag. This process works but I notice that when I insert an ID for an element, click OK and then click again to revise the menu, this ID number is lost (although I can visualize the element), therefore I cannot confirm I chose the right ID (you know, elements are very close). I think the ID should be visible in the menu when you open it again, otherwise it’s a problem.
    Thank you for your patience.

Ok, in PPM 2.3.7 now selection of elements is working again for me however

  1. it still doesn’t work for half-elements, after using the Section View command, which is unfortunate because I don’t see how you are meant to reach an element inside the volume of an object without this feature;
  2. if you work out the element ID by the number you can use the ID input field but then the number of the element is lost after you click OK and you can never get it back from the GUI; this is a problem if you are unsure you typed the right ID (or list of IDs) in the first place.

Thank you,

Andrea

The section view is only a visual feature and it does not support selection. I will have to change its base behaviour to allow for the selection to work.

So you would need to see a list of element ids?

Yes, that’s the idea. Thanks
