Hi
I have this kind of frame problem in my hands.
I don’t understand why “tail section” of the frame is twisting causing 23mm deformation. Loads are even and in my understanding this kind of movement shouldn’t happen.
Thanks advance!!

You have to set access to “Anyone with the link” before copying the link.
These are the changes I made…
This is a start, but I would not consider this as necessarily accurate results. It needs further work and refining in areas of high stress. Alternatively, split the geometry to take advantage of hex meshing.
How did you get this model ? Via pm ?
@FEAnalyst , I downloaded from the Google drive link provided. It worked for me. You have to login to Google with your user name though.
Did you have to ask for access too ? I thought that it would only work if you are the owner of the file or it was shared with your account specifically. But maybe it was done differently. Anyway, it’s better to just set access to anyone with the link as then it’s not necessary to log in.
@JMu Similar case: Calculix vs Nastran big difference in results for shells
No, it just asked me to sign in with my Google user details.
this one has been modelled as solids
Yeah, but it also had some assymetry due to too coarse first order mesh.
@JMu , If the BCs are to remain symmetrical, then you can also take advantage of half-symmetry model to reduce element/node count further.
I also don’t think that’s a safety way to get external files from unknown users. Don’t want to question JMu but one should always question links requesting you to input sensible data.
Hi
Thank you very much.
