When computation for composites will be available ?
best regards
If you mean composite shell sections (that’s the only feature CalculiX has for composites) then those can already be defined rather easily using keyword editor.
what with material properties along orthogonal directions ?
Orthotropic material properties are even easier to define with keywords, that’s why they aren’t high on the priority list: Orthotropic material support
Update of manual pdf for prepomax would be great help which should contain non trivial examples with composites and advanced materials
We don’t document features supported only with keywords. They are documented here: https://www.dhondt.de/ccx_2.22.pdf#section.7
That’s for theory (but there are also example input decks provided with CalculiX solver). YouTube tutorials show examples in PrePoMax. But you may even look for Abaqus examples, the keyword syntax is almost the same for basic usage.
input format of orthotropic materials (engineering constant) seems too long and split required, maybe it’s more convenient for user when available in menus. Another common task is layering shell element since CalculiX expand to solid, number of stack governing accuracy of results. May these option available also in shell section menus by number of layer. Unfortunately, only quadratic is supported (S8R and S6) but error message can be easily shown for guide.
