Hello Matej,
thank you for sharing the new version!
There seems to be an error when converting odb to frd, when there are multiple load cases involved. (in my case, these are perturbation steps)
I will perform some more benchmarks.
Hi @Matej , great work, many thanks! Just a question: why does it come with CCX 2.22 instead of the latest 2.23 ? Is it a question of testing it out before embedding it in PPM ? Regards, Andrea
I think it is good that rigid bodies no longer work with shells. They only introduced problems which were sometimes hard to spot. How do kinematic and distributed constraints work?
Since I have not yet tested the new CalculiX version, I did not include it.
Nice, didn’t know that. I don’t use much of that, so it doesn’t matter to me. Instead I wish Calculix would finally be able to cope with hinges connecting separate parts of the model, a weakening of the rigid body constraint. Although there are workarounds, I feel this is a very major shortcoming. Also, I can’t wrap my mind around the idea it is difficult to implement, but I must be mistaken obviously. Regards, Andrea
I didn’t notice untill now but seems Kynematic has also been deprecated. That’s bad as it used to work fine for me as far the surface was defined as TYPE=Node
*ERROR in gen3dmpc: nodes belonging to shell elements must not be subject to a RIGID MPC.
I tested it with a simple cube and it works. Of course, it certainly has some limitations. Try opening the .odb in PrePoMax first to see if it’s properly recognized (e.g. includes supported element types).
That is great! I will give it a try. Do I need to setup anything related to ABAQUS in prepromax for it to processs .odb file and convert it? I have access to ABAQUS license but I never use prepomax before.
No need for any additional setup unless you also want to submit Abaqus analyses from PrePoMax. To use the converter, just select Results → Convert .odb to .frd and select .odb file for conversion.
I got an error when I tried to view a .odb file in prepomax. The error is the ABAQUS executable does not exist. It probably have something to do with the system path for the ABAQUS.
EDIT: never mind, I figured it out and it works. Thank you so much!
