What do you think about my simulation?

I tried simulating a bar, the bar is fixed on “A““and has a force of 600000Kn and am wondering if i did it correct? thanks a lot to anyone that answers me, it’s my first time using Prepomax.

It’s hard to say anything without more details. Is it just a linear elastic rectangular bar fixed on one end and subjected to tensile force on the other end or some different setup ? A picture of the model with boundary condition and load symbols would suffice. The mesh is very coarse, the maximum element size should be reduced.

It’s always recommended to do analytical calculations whenever possible. This may tell you if your results are correct.

What are 600000Kn?

600000 kN? 600 MN? 60 millions of ton.

Hi this is the model, i did the manual calculations and the deformation is 1.435mm. Can this little difference be consequence of my mesh? Thank for answering me

Hi! thanks for answering my post. They are Kilonewtons and am sorry for not specifying

how would you approach reducing the maximum element size?

Sure, try refining it. However, such small deviations from hand calcs are normal in most cases.

In the Geometry tab, add new Meshing parameters object, select your parts and specify Max element size small enough considering the size of your model.

Thank you so much for your help!!
