I have such situation in LBA analysis I get blf 0.85 so buckling should exist but when I have done GNA I get solution that structure will not collapse any idea why ?
LBA can be very inaccurate, especially for imperfection-sensitive structures like shells. However, it usually overpredicts the critical load and the actual one from nonlinear analysis is lower.
What kind of structure is it and what results did you get from GNA ? Are imperfections included in the model ?
generally from this article I got info that linear buckling overestimate buckling strenght when compare to GNA , but I have opposie situation according to GNA structure has bigger buckling ressistance than in LBA
best regards
is that needed simple answer without problem sketch and results? i will trust geometric nonlinear analysis first instead eigenbuckling.
Did you consider imperfections or some small lateral load?.
I have used deformed mesh from LBA as start point of GMNIA
I can only think LBA is maybe not reliable. LB factor smaller than one is not reliable and you comment you are obtaining blf 0.85. Could you reduce loads until that value is in between 1-10 range?.
