Hello, new to PrePoMax and still learning the interface. I have a simple functioning model where gravity causes a sag in a flexibly mounted part. I am sure this is a simple question, but how do I confirm the overall mass and or inertial properties of the model. I can get PrePoMax to tell me part volumes but I want to make sure there are no units issues.
I am a NASTRAN user from very long ago, there was always a summary of these properties in the text output files. Should I be looking in the Calculix outputs?
I can see that ProPoMax would have to duplicate what the solver is doing to provide those values. Is there possibly a way to get Calculix to output that info? I found some online Calculix manuals but no luck yet.
Unlike Abaqus in modal/dynamic analyses (example below), CalculiX doesn’t print it in its logs. But you could ask about it on the CalculiX forum: https://calculix.discourse.group/
It actually does, but the values are only internal for now. The inertia tensor could be added to the query output in the future. Is the volume of the parts and CG not enough to check the unit issues?
