Motor side cap deformation

Dear All,

We are designing a motor side cap for the electric motor. The model is attached (step file).
We are planning to mount 6304 bearings. Radial load on the bearing is 2.4kN ( motor rpm ~10000)
We want to understand the maximum load the motor side cap can handle before it gets deformed. We are planning to use Al 6xxx or 7xxx series

What is the best approach to get the results, please…

There’s no predefined bearing load distribution on PrePoMax but you could consider using the compression-only constraint: https://youtu.be/yYuvUbu6Sw8?si=b54bePmOpevNglt5

Is the above correct ?

To make it more realistic, you could split that surface of the hole into two regions and apply pressure or traction load only to one half because the bearing won’t pull the other side. A similar approach is shown in the video linked above.

Let me share the compression only results pls

yes ur right we will also try with 4 equal part and also the correct angle of traction load

First option simulation results.
Please let us know if we have to

choose “nonlinear” as yes under compression only ?.

We will work on other options u have suggested

Yes, you should enable that or Nlgeom to make this type of constraint work as expected.

Results after enabling “yes”

Thank you for ur help.
