it’s good indeed with moderate mesh density, however hex-dominant also generate tetrahedral at filler transition and known not usable for linear types.
not know Algor have these similar algorithms of automatic mixed element, but another is later FEMAP versions has (YouTube video link1 and link2)
I intended C3D8I for pure Hex mesh…if the purpose is to determinate deformations one can save a lot of nodes on big model respect C3D20.
By the way I agree with Sergio about ten nodes tetra elements. Automatc mesh generation an the simplicity on refine save a lot of time above all on design stage: component preliminary CAD->FEA->component modification CAD->FEA and so on. This workflow generally must be repeated more times
