Can anyone please help me on - Static nonlinear analysis with non Linear Geometry

Hi All - I am new to PrepoMax only started last night so apologies if this is a simple question. I have a metal disc - a diaphragm which is fixed around the circumference, and I am applying pressure in the centre. I have modelled this in static - shell section with Stainless Steel material using Elastic and Density values, and it all works fine. However, the disc only 0.15 mm thick, so I need to model a non-linear mode for the geometry. Can anyone help me please :slight_smile:

Hi Again - I did find a setting in STEP which might have changed the simulation to non-linear geometry. The output file did say on the text that its working.

I managed to get it to work - just select NLgeom = ON. (See Picture below)

That’s right, the Nlgeom parameter in step options is used to enable geometric nonlinearity and the solver output confirms that it’s set correctly in your case.
