There are also some research papers on this topic such as: [https://www.irjet.net/archives/V4/i7/IRJET-V4I7544.pdf](https://www.irjet.net/archives/V4/i7/IRJET-V4I7544.pdf)

This one is interesting too: [https://www.researchgate.net/publication/397526983\_Numerical\_design\_simulation\_of\_a\_veneer\_layer\_composite\_reinforced\_with\_recycled\_carbon\_non-\_woven\_using\_the\_example\_of\_a\_skateboard](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/397526983_Numerical_design_simulation_of_a_veneer_layer_composite_reinforced_with_recycled_carbon_non-_woven_using_the_example_of_a_skateboard)

If it’s a thin (thickness \< 1/10 of a typical global dimension such as length/width) laminate, composite shells would be the best way, but they need keywords edits. You can find some examples [here](https://prepomax.discourse.group/t/curved-orthotropic-composite-shell-sections/2403). However, if you encounter any of the known issues with CalculiX’s shell elements (see this: [Known CalculiX limitations](https://prepomax.discourse.group/t/known-calculix-limitations/3050)), you may need to use the Thicken Shell Mesh tool to obtain multiple layers of solid elements instead.
