Sealing lip deformation / assembly

My goal was to make a simulation in 40ShA and 60ShA.

Sorry I am new in the FEA topic  What do you mean by that?

I tried different mesh versions with less points and also with more points in the bending area / radius.

But it failed.

Ok I will do that. But when I switch to automatic, it finishes the calculation without error but it dosent go the movement I defined in the BC

Done

Sealing lip deformation / assembly problem - Analysis issues - CalculiX (official versions are on www.calculix.de, the official GitHub repository is at https://github.com/Dhondtguido/CalculiX).

Then you could use for example:

40A_hyper c10= 0.181 MPa c01= 0.045 MPa
60A_hyper c10= 0.474 MPa c01= 0.118 MPa

In short words, in such cases, you may need to check or even just imagine how the rubber part will deform and how its finite elements may distort. Then remesh in such a way that their initial size and shape is less likely to distort so much.

I’ve also tried different configurations, but there is some incorrect behavior in the region where it bends and needs self-contact.

I’ve also noticed this behavior. It’s some bug that makes PrePoMax think the analysis is finished. Sometimes it really finishes, but with a broken (distorted) mesh.

Thanks. We have some issues with the solver here so let’s see what they say. Maybe I will also contact Guido (CalculiX dev) directly. And we should report it on GitHub if any bug is confirmed.
