When you make an axisymmetric analysis, you can chose two way to have the output result : in 2D or in 3D. The way to have the result change between the two settings. For example I juste make a simple analysis on a 10 mm diameter cylinder (20 mm lenght) . I applied a 0.1mm displacement in Y direction.

First i solve the reaction force with a simple analytic methode :

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/prepomax/original/2X/4/4802423465f0aff66b9c2d35fc76c472064831e2.png)

Then i make an equivalent model in Prepomax :

Now you have to choice to have you Element field output :

And here you have the two settings solved :

On the 2D methode the reaction force is given for all the cyclinder surface.

On the 3D methode the reaction force is given for a 2 degree portion of the total surface of the cylinder .

So think about that when you change your output !

Yes, although documented, it can be confusing: [Reaction forces in axisymmetric model](https://prepomax.discourse.group/t/reaction-forces-in-axisymmetric-model/860)

Why does the cylinder look discontinuous?

I guess it’s just a circular transformation on the standard 2° wedge. One should enter e.g. 2° angle and 45 segments to get 90° visualization.

Yes exact you can choose how you pattern your result output. 2 degree it’s
continuous.

For the visibility i set : 4 degree.
