# Element, node sets, remesh, reselect items

Hello,
i have models with element and node sets. When i remesh the parts this sets are empty.
Whats the normal way. When i try to reselct with this sets, i can not select anything. I have to delete the set and create it new. This still worked in 2.1.11.

If the sets are created by the Geometry based selection, they should be regenerated. If they are created by the FE mesh based selection, they become invalid and need to be recreated.
I tried to reproduce the problem but failed to do so. Since other users reported something similar over my email, I am wondering if you can share the .pmx file where this happens.

Hello Matey,
i tested 2.2.0. There it works. With 2.2.1 the issue started.
I attached a model. Remesh platte and try to reselect elements of the set Elements\_remove.

Thanks for sharing the file. I can reproduce the problem. The first issue, that the Element set gets colored red as invalid, is expected. You used meshed-based selection which is only valid for one mesh and gets invalid if the mesh is regenerated. The second problem is that it is not possible to fix the invalid element set by editing it. This is a bug.

Hi @Matej I can confirm that when creating a node set and then remeshing, the node set becomes invalid (as it should) but then I cannot edit it to make it valid. Indeed, when selecting some nodes, the selection disappears immediately and it is not picked up by the system. Instead, I have to delete the set and create a new one. I guess you have fixed this as per your previous post. On the occasion, I’d like to push a small request. When I create a ref system, it’d be nice if reference points may be selected for the system origin, because I usually define a ref point to find, say, the center of a circle where I’d like the new coordinate system to originate from. This is not possible now, and I have to note the coordinates and type them in. Thanks.

It is possible to create the coordinate system in the center of three points.
